Tell me, has anyone out there, who has got got JW paremts or parent, managed to get their parents/parent to read the D'Vinci code ??? Ok, so it's a bit of tall tale,(or mabey not !!), but every time I try to convince my mum to read it just for the hell of it, I always get the same respones - ie "Load of rubbish Paul, not going to read such crap".

I now it's just a book, quite a good read though, but you would think that the JW would practice wat they teach - ie - they are always banging on about how we should listen to other peoples beliefs, and yet they don't seem to do this themselves !!!

Sorry for bringing this up here, I probably should be bringing this up in a different forum, just not sure how to do that as I'm very new to owning a PC

I think there are many areas of JW's which are questionable, obviosuly coming up for easter, the "memorial", (Nissan 14 - i can never rember if it's Nisan or Nissan, or somethign else !!), is probably the hot topic of the moment. Anyway, as a newcomer to this forum, I have enjoyed the various peices of input an look forward to discussing more JW issues in th future.

Gumby, I couldn't agree more !!!! You read my mind. Every year it's the one night that JW's invite people along, only to make them feel like complete outsiders !!!

I Agree pal, a total farce !!! What annoys me though is that it's only now that I relaise what a farce it is !! I spent my younger years growing up expecting the end of the world, and, even though I had given the JW crowd a wide berth, I still showed up so every April, just incase !!!STILL WAITING !!!!

Oh, trust me, the wine and crackers were drunk and eaten at my "congregation". For many years there was one elderly woman and one elderly man who always had some wine and crackers. I mean, we used to think,"what are the chances, eh ???, 144,000 of them and we just happen to have 2 of them in Greenock, Scotland" ???!!!! Quality, you could'nt make that up !!! (Although, obviously somebody did !!)

Quite right mate. Not that I want to go into as much detail as you did, but the whole idea of "The Momorial" is a bloody joke !!! We're supposed to believe that 144,000 of them are some sort of "chosen" crowd ???? Aye right, so what heppens when the 144,000 have all snuffed it and thers nobody left to drink the cheap wine and scoff the crackers ??? Any money the old Watch Tower bigrade will come out with "Oh, sorry folks, heres ANOTHER 144,000, the first mob were just a trial run !!" Aye, I wouldn't put it past them !!
